The choice to hide so many wonders from you is an act of love that is a gift inside the process of life. ~ Saruya (from The Shack by William P. Young)
There were lots of moments when I knew exactly what was going on and what was going to happen. But there were also days and nights when I didn’t have a clue. And when that happens – when you weren’t sure how things will be, when you can’t put a handle on things – that’s always scary. We are always scared of the unknown. These annoying secrets! But then…
But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets… ~ Daniel 2:28a
And I find comfort in that truth. It’s super awesome to know that we only needed to go to You for anything, any one thing we know absolutely nothing about. You will reveal them. You’ve revealed them. You reveal them all. We only needed to come to You. So while I badly needed to learn how to be patient – that really painful, excruciating word – I needed to be reminded of having faith in You even in the tiniest detail of my life. That part was such great fun for me. It’s amazing how You made that happen. I love Your ways!
You reminded me that You are a promise-keeping God. You promised that You are my Redeemer. You showed me what to do and how to do things for Your glory.
O Lord, you are a great and awesome God! You always fulfill your covenant and keep your promises of unfailing love to those who love you and obey your commands. ~ Daniel 9:4
I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the Lord. ~ Hosea 1:19, 20
I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings. ~ Hosea 6:6
The Lord says, “Then I will heal you of your faithlessness; my love will know no bounds… The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them.” ~ Hosea 14:4, 9b
That is why the Lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping and mourning. Don’t tear your clothes in your grief, but tear your hearts instead. Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love…” ~ Joel 2:12, 13
For the Lord is the one who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind. ~ Amos 4:13
Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living. ~ Amos 5:24
O Lord, you have sent this storm upon him for your own good reasons. ~ Jonah 1:14b
If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting… the Lord himself will guide you. ~ Micah 2:7b, 13b
… The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. … Fear the Lord if you are wise! ~ Micah 6:8, 9a
As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.
“Yes,” says the Lord, “I will do mighty miracles for you…” ~ Micah 7:7, 15
